🚤 What Is a Hillbilly Yacht?

Fortunately for me, I had a live, captive audience all summer long to listen to my storytelling, but I also got to hear stories from others. Visitors from near and far joined my husband and me

on our hillbilly yacht. What is a hillbilly yacht, you might ask? Well, it’s very simple—a floating dock with a picnic table on it with two small battery-operated engines.

We entertain a lot in the summer because: one) we LOVE summer, and 2) we have a hillbilly yacht! As I decided to embark on the creation of a newsletter to reach out to those who enjoyed my last book, Sweet Tea, a Novel, and gain interest from those who might be interested in my next, it occurred to me, what if I had never said yes to a date with my “now” husband on the hillbilly yacht? We’ve only been together since 2022, and when he presented me with three options for a first date, the hillbilly yacht seemed intriguing, so I said, “Yes.”

In retrospect, I could have taken a cautious approach to dating and gone out for a drink at the local restaurant or gone for coffee at Starbucks.
